Thank you for choosing Focura ("we", "our", or "us"). We believe that your privacy is a fundamental right. Focura is designed from the ground up with an offline-first, privacy-first architecture. We do not sell, rent, or monetize your personal data.

Information We Collect

Focura does not require you to create an account, log in with social media, or supply your email address. All user data is stored locally on your physical device.

User Profile Name: An optional display name you may enter during onboarding or settings. Stored locally via SQLite on your device.
Tasks & Categories: Titles, estimated sessions, and completion states of tasks you create. Stored exclusively on your device.
Focus Statistics & Streaks: Session durations, completion counts, focus points (XP), and streak history calculated on-device.
User Preferences: Timer durations, active soundscape selections, reminder times, and theme settings (Dark/Light mode).

Device Permissions & Usage

To provide core focus and timer functionality, Focura requests the following device permissions:

POST_NOTIFICATIONS

Used to send local alerts when your focus session or break timer completes, and for scheduled daily focus reminders.

VIBRATE

Provides gentle haptic feedback when starting, pausing, or completing sessions to reinforce deep work rhythms.

WAKE_LOCK

Ensures that the countdown timer runs accurately and soundscapes play continuously when your screen remains active during focus mode.

Ambient Soundscapes & Network Requests

When you enable ambient audio (e.g., Rain, White Noise, Forest stream), the app streams high-definition ambient sound files from reliable public content delivery networks (CDNs).

These audio streams do not collect identifying user data, and we do not transmit any of your personal tasks or timer logs over these requests.

Third-Party Services & Analytics

Focura does not integrate any third-party tracking SDKs, behavioral advertising networks, or user profiling tools (such as Google AdMob, Facebook Pixel, or third-party behavioral trackers).

Data Storage, Backup & Deletion

Because all your data resides in your device's local database (SQLite):

Data Export: You can export a full JSON backup of all your sessions, tasks, and statistics at any time via Settings → Export Data.
Complete Data Reset: You can wipe all stored data at any time via Settings → Reset All Data, resetting the application to its original state.
App Uninstallation: Uninstalling the application completely deletes all locally stored databases and settings from your device.

Children's Privacy (COPPA Compliance)

Focura is safe for general audiences. Because we do not collect, request, or transmit any personally identifiable information from any user, we do not knowingly collect personal data from children under the age of 13.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect improvements in our app or regulatory updates. Any modifications will be posted to this page with an updated "Last Updated" date.
